COMING HOME Digital Montage 2020 Coming Home transforms the perception of climate change as something distant from everyday life into a possible reality. The domestic space in Cobert’s body of work becomes overwhelmed by the aftermath of a climate crisis. As temperatures rise and mass pollution increases, climate change is becoming unavoidable. Our planet has never been at greater risk, it is slowly yet surely accelerating towards collapse. Through the use of digital photomontage, Cobert converts the environment which should feel familiar and safe into a place of discomfort and uncertainty. The aim of this work is to increase awareness and environmental consciousness by situating the crisis inside the home. The work provides an opportunity to envision and engage with the potential collapse of climate change raising questions about the necessity to act now. |

STAGED Digital Montage 2019 The project Staged’, aims to bring to light the concealed themes within musicals; themes of segregation and feminism as well as outward appearance and independence, which are all present within the world today. The images digitally combine elements from different musicals within the everyday landscape. As part of the series ‘Staged’, I curated two exhibitions. One of the exhibitions was part of a small group at Square One at the Coventry University Hub. The second exhibition was a solo exhibition which was held at the Criterion Theatre in Earlsdon, Coventry. |
MOONLIGHT SONATA Digital Montage 2018 It is impossible to not acknowledge the communities and events of the past, in particular the people of World War Two. Moonlight Sonata focuses solely on the night of November 14th 1940, Coventry’s most destructive raid. The images combine the past with the present, providing a voice to the people of the Blitz and making their story heard. This series was exhibited at the Priory Undercroft in Coventry, as part of the collective 'Exposure Festival' in 2019. |

BIOPHILIA Digital Projection 2019 Biophilia is a photographic project exploring the relationship between man and nature. The exhibition was curated in a way of highlighting the importance of nature, to emphasise its existing beauty and to not allow man-made constructions to destroy this. The exhibit was set in the Coundon Wedge, Coventry, as parts of the Wedge are set to be flattened and made into housing estates in the future. |
